Franciss rushed out of the restaurant and emerged into a lobby filled with the maroon and oatmeal as the last room had been. Scanning the space, she noticed a few people by a couple of pay phones on the other end of the room, but didn't head over just yet. Knowing that they were there provided with her with enough courage to glance in her notebook again. Chetney wasn't a name she was very familiar with, though it did sound familiar. Was it a first name?
Closing the book, she took another long look around the room; an unmanned desk, two elevators, more doors, a few sofas and chairs, a small fountain. Miss Kane approached the fountain feeling suddenly apprehensive. There was no sound. Even the people in the corner were unnaturally quite with barely any rustles and if she wasn't mistaken, little breathing.
And when she glanced into the basin of the fountain a horrifying sight greeted her. There was a reason no one was manning the desk and it had much to do with the pink water and soaked body. A gasp sounded from her and alerted the other people to her presence, if they could be called that. Almost as one the group turned their attention onto her, revealing their bloodstained mouths and clothes.
With another, more desperate gasp, Franciss sprinted to the elevators, pressing the up button desperately. Turning to face the things, her efforts only increased as she desperately looked for anything that would help her. No one needed to tell Franciss Kane what was going on. She knew what zombies were.
"Help!"

Victoria held her gun straight in front of her, the safety off and her finger on the trigger. Her blonde hair was dyed a thick, clotted red color as she trekked her way through the Hotel. The young officer cursed loudly when she ended up at another dead-end, and pushed herself against a wall for support. Earlier that day she had received a call at the department that someone was being harassed by another person, and so, being an officer, she went to go and settle the matter, thinking it was just a punk messing around with the woman. How wrong she was. As soon as she neared the hotel, she could tell something was off. Where was everyone? She related it to the illness, the same one that had the Police department near empty aswell. But never thought anymore of it. Not until she got inside.
Victoria spotted an elevator not to far back the way she came, and, looking around a corner to see if anymore of those things were around, quickly but quietly, made her way to it, pressing the down button. Her breathing heavy and gun ready as she thought back to the first time she sighted her first 'zombie'
She barely got a foot in the hotel when it was grabbed and she was pulled to the floor, her head smacking dangerously hard against the ground. With each tug of her leg, she was brought further inside, and she could feel a weight on her. Hands crawling their way up her legs, pulling her further down, and at first, she thought it was the harasser, and she was furious. But when Agent Lears opened her eyes, she was met with dead, cold eyes of a young woman. Her mouth was slack, saliva dripping onto Victoria's shirt, her hair was up in a poorly done bun, and her nails painted a dark red color. Victoria shrieked when the woman grabbed her arm, pushing it to her mouth, and she swung her free and around, a sickening crack ringing fresh in her ears as the woman went falling to the floor, twitching a little. "The bloody hell?!" She screamed, pulling her gun out of it's holster, backing up a ways, her other hand grabbing her radio. "This is Officer Lears! I need-" She was pulled backward onto something, and to her horror, she realized that it was another one of those things, but this time it was a man.
"The fu- Ah!" His head came down to her face and Victoria just barely managed to duck out of his grasp, dropping to her knees on the dirty floor, and rolling herself away from him, she raised her gun and fired a round to his chest, thick blood oozing from the wound. But he still kept moving. Her eyes were wide, and her brain had temporarily stopped all logical functioning as the creature got closer. The moaning sounds reached her bloodied ears, and Victoria looked around her, there weren't a lot, but there was enough, and that was all she needed to turn her brain back on, and sprint toward the stairs, all her better judgment told her to stay away from the elevators. The VCPD officer had ran up several flights of stairs before she kicked open a locked door that led to the rooms. That being where she remembered the woman, and her call for help, and so she went on to opening as many doors as she could. Though little that did, as the woman was still missing.
Lears' head snapped to the elevator door as it opened, and doing a check to ensure that it was safe, got in. She would have to go back down to the first floor. "I'm sorry." She mumbled to herself, inside she was hurt because she couldn't find the woman in any of the rooms. She ran a gloved hand across her cheek, wiping some of the blood off, and readied her gun, moving to the back of the car when the familiar 'ding' of the elevator door opening brought her back to reality.

Suprised by the sudden opening of the elevator doors, Franciss fell back right as one of the zombies yelled. A vague impression of someone else being in the elevator hit her before she was struggling for her life. Blood rushed to her ears and for a few seconds as she kicked the zombie out and lunged to press a floor button, the world was again devoid of sound.
After kicking a few more bodies away so the doors would close, Franciss stood up with relief. A quick glance at her new companion revealed a blonde cop with her gun pointing at the door. Had she fired shots? To be perfectly honest, Miss Kane wasn't even sure she cared by then.
Holding out a hand to introduc herself to the woman, she hoped her slight Chicago accent wouldn't be heard. There was the feeling of being not in Kansas anymore, as the saying went. Her other hand went to her back pocket where a slim card made itself known.
"Franciss Kane at your service ma'am. I don't think the front door is the way to go." Taking the hard piece of plastic from her back pocket, she noticed the title of Hotel de Vivi and the number 356. "Now what is this I suppose.

It took a moment for Victoria to prosses the new happenings. A girl, around her age or so appeared, had just fought off more of those things, and got into the elevator. For a moment, she felt as if her legs woud give, she was so relieved to see another human being, but thankfully she'd caught herself, and, going back to an 'on duty' state of mind, she put her gun back into it's holster, before nodding at the girl, not really wanting to touch her with her dirtied hands. "Victoria Lears, VCPD." She said, leaning on the wall of the car, her mind reeling on how she would get out next. There had to be a back door, or a kitchen door or something that would lead to the outside world. If she was in the open, despit it being very dangerous, she would know what to do. But because she was in a hotel she'd never been in before, Victoria had not a clue what led to where. "I had hoped it'd be clear or atleast somewhat passable. The upstairs is clean though, save for a few dead, fully dead, bodies." She corrected herself. The officer had long since decided that she would need a few heavy drinks to help knock her nerves to the side and relax again.
"What's that?" Victoria asked, nodding her head toward the card in Franciss' hand, her British accent shinning in alll is glory. She would take near anything that would help. Reaching around to her back, she pulled out the single clip she had and hoped it would be enough to last, just until she could contact the station or another officer. Hopefully, the latter would be easier.

"You know, I'm not quite sure. Maybe it's a hotel keycard..." Scratching her head she looked briefly at the magnetic strip on the back, before staring at the number again. This couldn't be her card, she barely knew where Hotel de Vivi was let alone how much it cost to stay in such a place.
And where did the cop say she was from? "VCPD? Are you a new Chicago branch or something? Am I in some fancy new hotel?" Turning the card again she pressed the button for floor three and tried to puzzle her way through the problem; where was she, who was Chetney, and why was she even in such a place.
Tightening her hand around the card she steeled herself. It didn't matter, she was in the situation now and the only thing to do was answer one question at a time, starting with where.

"Chicago? Are you feeling right?" Victoria questioned, looking at the other oddly. "This is Vivienne City. I work at the Vivienne City Police Department, and I suppose, I myself have never even been here." She explained slowly before setting herself upright. "May I have a look at it? If it's a key card, then that must mean that it goes to a door, and going to a door might mean that, one, it might take us outside through a fire exit or something, or two, it may lead us to a locked door, and there might be a chance I can catch my breath before moving forward." She told, holding her hand out to accept the card. If she could get to a safe room, she might be able to call out for backup, if there was any, but for now, Victoria would have to make do with what she had. That being a handgun, a single clip, and her basic training skills.

"Oh here." She handed the card over before reevaluating the situation. For the life of her, Franciss couldn't even percieve why she would be in such a town let alone why she wouldn't know she was in the town.
"Does the name Chetney ring a bell or am I just crazy? Oh and just for good messure, what day is it?" Was Vivienne City the name of the place where Gregory's brother had lived. She'd told him no, that she couldn't leave her job just to go help the brother of a lone pharmasist. Perhaps Chetney was the brother? Was Gregory's last name Chetney?

356? Given the numbers and their order when I was on the other floor, this room should be on the third floor, or so. The British officer thought, absently biting at her lip. She only looked away from the card when Franciss spoke again. "Today is... the fifth of June I believe. It'll be midnight shortly." For the previous question, Victoria had to think alittle. There wasn't anybody she knew with the name Chetney. She shook her head lightly, "No, I don't know anybody with that name. First nor last. Perhaps when, or if, we can get back to the station, I can do a system check to see if there was or still is a person living here under the name Chetney." Victoria offered. "But for now, get back." She instructed, pulling her gun out as the doors opened with that same ding.
The blonde officer dropped down to a squatting position should there be one above her, it probably wouldn't notice her, and should there be one crawling, well, those were somewhat easy to deal with. She inched her way to the open door, close to the wall and put the tips of her fingers on the door to keep it open as she slowly peered out to the left of her. It was clear. Sighing, she looked to the right and finally let her breath go and stood up outside of the elevator. "It's cle-" The woman was tackled to the ground, the wind forced out of her lungs as a heavy man, possibly in his mid fourties and partially naked(a lone towel just barely hanging onto his waist) had his full weight on her so very smaller body. Lashing out a series of curses and the likes, she reached for her gun, the item being knocked a bit a ways away from her in the hall.
How had she'd missed someone his size? Or more importantly, how had he'd moved at her so fast? Not to be rude or anything, but the man had to be atleast three to four hundred pounds, give or take! She could hardly breath as his rancid breath was blown into her face. Oh how she so badly wanted to upchuck her lunch. "The gun! Grab....grab it!" Victoria shouted to Franciss, her full attention back on the man trying to eat away at her flesh. He was to heavy to kick off, she wasn't that strong, and she had to use both her arms to keep his mouth away and thankfully, he seemed to have no nails.

The brunette stumbled, reaching for the gun; how hard could it be to point and shoot. She picked it up and attempted to aim, afraid that she would hit officer Victoria so she decided to solve the problem by getting as close as possible and shooting the man point blank in the head, splattering both herself and Officer Lears with a mess of gore.
"Um... I have to say that I don't know this man and I'm pretty sure that this is probably not his room. I think this is Chetney's-" Stopping mid sentence she furrowed her brow as a lean boyish face with tannish hair and a wide smile popped into her head. Where had that come from? Getting down onto her knees to help Victoria out from under the body, Franciss tried to push the young man's image away from her conciousness.
Admin's note: You notice a couple of twenties had been tucked in the waist of the now dead-man's towel. Two twenties. One for the each of you. You ponder on the fact that the rich walk around carelessly with their money like it grows on trees, and then you ponder the fact that it wouldn't be unlikely for them to actually own money trees. +$20 to Officer Lears and Miss Kane.

Victoria had managed to catch a glimps of Franciss when she struggled with the man, and turned her head, mouth and eyes closed. The feeling of blood and brain matter would probably stick with her for life, Victoria was sure of as she heaved and pushed the man up and to the side of her with the other womans help. "Thanks." She muttered, trying to wipe off as much as she could from the side of her face, though groaning as the mess was only smeared around. "Let's just find this room. Hopefully the water is still running." She stood, took her gun back, and walked down the hall, following the numbers as they went up.
Had she'd not been trained to keep her cool in bad situations, Victoria would had probably gone on a spree, firing a few rounds into any unlucky 'zombie' that just happened to cross her path.
"349..........353............356." Victoria counted out, stopping infront of the last door on that side of the hall. "It did say 356, right? This must be the room then." She said, the tips of her fingers brushing along the wood. Her heart was racing. What would be behind that door? Was it safe? Unsafe? Was anyone inside? She grabbed the handle and slowly tested it, seeing if it was locked. It was. "Alright, once you unlock the door, stay by me incase there's anything dangerous in there." She instructed, putting her hand back on the handle as she waited for Franciss to unlock the door.

Franciss had always wondered why guns had never been her particular style; her father had been absolutely obsessed with the things, only hiding them until she was thirteen and smart enough to know not to touch them. Now, as her hands still shook with adrenaline, she knew. It had been easy to pull the trigger. Far too easy for another person to lose their life. Granted, the man in the towel was definitely not human, but still, it should have been harder to take all that was left of him away.
Officer Lears, who was unfortunately needing a good shower, had asked her to open the door and for a moment Miss Kane was unable to. Seeing the bits of zombie on her hands might have done it, but mostly it was the adrenaline. Sticking the card in she pulled it out to quickly at first before she took a second to calm down and tried again. This time the light turned to green and the door unlatched as Franciss quickly moved behind Victoria.
The brunette quickly looked around the room over Victoria's shoulder. Seemingly empty, it was a single that continued the oatmeal walls but had navy blue accents rather than maroon. Noticing two suitcases on the bed, Miss Kane studied them closely. One was open and clearly belonged to a man while the other strongly resembled the hand-me-down suitcase Grans had given Franciss when she had turned 18. It resembled the suitcase so strongly that the mustard stain from her last trip to Grans was still visible on the top.
The only way to know for sure what her suitcase was doing here was snoop and Franciss wasn't sure she wanted Victoria to figure out what she had been doing in room 356 before she did. Or what she had been doing here with a man named Chetney...
(OOC: changed post a little because I realized I was moving Victoria on my own. Sorry Victoria)

Victoria stood in her place for a while. If she left to go get cleaned up, should a zombie enter, there could be real problems, but if she didn't get the repulsive smells off her, there would be other problems. Tossing her gun on the bed, she decided that it wouldn't hurt to wash up a little. If the water was running. "I'll be back in fifteen minutes." She said before heading into the bath room. The lights sprung to life as Victoria flipped on the switch. The floors were a white on white color. Odd. She next went to the faucet, and turning the hot water knob, she sighed with great content. The water was running and to her utter reliefe, so was the shower.
The young officer unbuttoned and removed her uniform top first, dropping it in the plugged up tub filling with scalding hot water before going back to the sink. The hot water felt so good on her skin, and she felt even better when the blood and such was off. She then went on to washing the rest of her clothing piece by piece until everything was as clean as it could get, she went on to getting her hair back to it's original color. Her fingers scrubbed hard through her hair, loosening up dried clumps and pushing out pieces of meat and whatnot. It took her around seven minutes for her clothes, and four for her hair. Her arms wern't that bad, so a quick rinse with some soap did just fine. That took two minutes. So she had two minutes left.
Victoria took that time to look at herself. Her changes. Her eyes. She noticed that she'd lost a little bit of weight, though seemed to be as alert as ever. Sighing alittle, Victoria set down the lid to the toilet and sat down on it. The days events finally sinking in.

Eying the gun, Franciss waited until the officer had closed the bathroom door before she ran for her suitcase, running her hands reverently over the familiar object. After taking a moment to wipe her grimy hands on one of the shirts in the unfamiliar suitcase, Fran turned her attention to the zipper briefly before opening the case fully.
What the heck? Many of the clothes in the bag were obviously hers: old blouses showing years of use in their cuffs, faded jeans that hadn't been bought for effect, flannel shirts worn for pure comfort, and some white pharmacist shirts along with other essentials. However, the blue silk dress that had been tossed in was not something she would ever have been able to afford and that shampoo and soap were not the extremely cheap brand she had been purchasing ever since she left the house.
The water stopped in the bathroom, but Franciss tuned it out as she turned to observe the rest of the room. On the hotel dresser there were several pieces of jewelry that she rose to investigate. Dried pieces of unmentionable meat cracked and fell away from her jeans, but Franciss turned her mind away from it. A man's gold watch nudged at her memory but nothing readily surfaced until her eyes rested on thin band of metal with the modest diamond. That was hers however she did not reach for it. Instead she turned away from the dresser and surveyed the room again.
"Are you alright Miss Victoria?" Being alone in the strange but recognizable hotel room was beginning to get to her.
