Recent History of Vivienne City

Here are the recent happenings of this city that have led to the dire situation!:

Back in February, a scientist group secretly funded by the government called C.R.S.P. (Cell Researchers for Strange Phenomena) developed a cure for millions of horrible pandemic diseases, cancers, viruses -- anything, you name it, this thing could do the trick. It was a milestone cure, but CRSP made sure to keep their methods a secret, and wouldn't release the details on how it worked to the public.

The cure was called "Liberium", dubbed several things:

Relief type L,
Free Vaccine,
The American Cure,
etc.

No one was 100% sure what it was, though, even when it was released for public testing. An injection? A pill? An application? However, people volunteering to test it were given $10,000, and that was enough for thousands of people. Citizens flocked to the CRSP facility in Washington signing up to test it.

Liberium was an injection. A slick, oily, pearlescent liquid. Quite pretty. It solved many problems, and even began to cure AIDS. In April, the government approved of CRSP's creation, and it has slowly started to appear in clinics across America.

One of the clinics offering it is Vivienne City's neighboring town - Lyham.

As of May 11th, the town mysteriously locked up, however, closing its doors to people coming in, and locking them for people wanting out. No contact of any kind has been made since then.

The first recorded case of someone who had Liberium injected to them experiencing problems was May 19th, and from there, more people, even those never having contact with the medicine, have as well. Heavy sweating, paling of the face, raspy voice, slowing down of the heartbeat, dizziness, and eventually the inability to use one's body.

May 21st, a death.

May 22nd, two more.

May 28th, a total death count of twelve. 9pm, total death count of eleven.

More people thought dead are being reanimated somehow, but they seem to be spreading the complications of the Liberium vaccine. These people "reanimated" have a complete inability to communicate and are violent, driven by the natural human rage for food.
